_ Leave Your Leaves Be!Īs the Fall season comes around, colorful leaves begin to ‘fall’ off the trees and scatter lawns across the County. With your help, we can begin to forever preserve and enhance the quality of life within Blair County, Pennsylvania. Polluted stormwater contaminates our local waters, killing or damaging plants, fish, and wildlife while degrading the quality of our water. Waterways support a wide variety of plants and wildlife and provide numerous outdoor recreation opportunities. This water is then conveyed through a system of drains, pipes, inlets, and ditches known as the storm sewer system, leading directly to local creeks, streams, and rivers without receiving treatment.

Instead, runoff collects and transports soil, pet waste, road salt, pesticides, fertilizer, oil and grease, litter, and other pollutants.

This has been substantially increased by human development due to the result of impervious areas (areas water cannot infiltrate) such as roadways, rooftops, and parking lots not allowing the water to soak into the ground. Recycling- Please use the brown cart with the blue lid for recycling.

Up to two bulk items (mattress, furniture, etc.) per household per pickup - four items for the month.

Bulk waste collection- The FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAYS of every month.

Use container or biodegradable bags, and no plastic bags.

Yard waste collection-The SECOND SATRUDAY of every month.

Any loose trash must be picked up and deposited in your trash can.

Find a place on your property to store your trash cans (not in the alley or at the curb).

Do not leave your trash cans out more than 18 hours after it has been collected.

Do not put your trash out more than 18 hours prior to your scheduled trash collection times.

All trash must be placed in the brown wheeled cart with a secure lid.
